    Reading the map

    Circles show the number of prizes, not prizes per person, so populous areas look bigger. Gold marks an area with a £1 million winner. Hover or tap an area or circle to see what it won.

    How areas are grouped

    The sheet mixes counties, cities and regions, and they overlap. A county here means what remains after any city the sheet names separately. Councils the sheet never names, such as Herefordshire, are folded into a neighbour. “London” and “East Midlands” name no smaller place, so they light up the whole region.
